Growing up in the early 70's, my friends would have called this a "stash box" and they wouldn't have kept tobacco in it. But in 1910 it was undoubtedly used for tobacco. Created by the E F Caldwell Co of New York, this silver on bronze box is very heavy and we'll constructed. Measures 4" x 7" x 2" tall. Lined with cedar. Lid holds a screened piece that contains a sponge (to keep your stash from drying out!) Fantastic old piece from one of the greatest bronze works in New York City. Still will keep your stash from drying out!
