  • Condition: Fair condition in "as found" estate condition. has minor dents, dings, scratches and fading/tarnish to the original finish. Applied scarab on the front center with inscribed wings on either side. Sponge holder on the inside top of the lid. Bottom clearly signed "Benedict Karnac Brass 672" Matchholder on one side and a pipe-holder on the other. Pipe holding clip is detached from the piece and will require repair. We are leaving this vintage piece as is and will allow the new owner to make decisions about clean-up/restoration/repairs.

    Vtg BENEDICT HUMIDOR Egyptian Revival Karnak Brass 1920s Art Deco Humidor
    Description : Offered is 1920s Egyptian Revival humidor made by Benedict metal studios of New York during the "all things Egyptian" craze that took the US by storm during the first tour of the King Tut tomb exhibit in 1925. This art deco two piece humidor consists of a brass jar with a match holder on one side and a (detached) clip for holding a pipe and a brass lid with a stunning winged scarab on it.  The scarab has 4 tiny human fiqures inscribed on it's body
