The item up for bids is a pair of antique World War I era American Legion bronze bookends. They feature an elongated vertical form with an American eagle at the crest, the U.S. American Legion star logo on the top half, and a scene of two battle hardened doughboy soldiers in a machine gun nest. There are no makers marks. These bookends would be a patriotic addition to any United States military collection, have some fun and bid!
Condition
:
The condition is fair to good antique. They show age appropriate handling and storage wear with scuffs scratches, and dings. There are no chips or cracks. They have an age darkened patina. There is dust in the recesses and whitish patches on the top of the bases. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out.
Dimensions
:
They're about 6-1/2" tall, 4-1/2" wide, and 3-1/2" deep. The pair weighs about 5 pounds.
