Well made pipe box in excellent condition-probably because it was not moved much from hanging on a wall, Bought this over twenty years ago from Richard Axtell who found it in Bergen County NJ. Old note inside says this box was owned by a descendent of David DesMarest (later Demarest) who came to the US in 1663 and who had a grant of 5000 acres on the Hackensack river. The box is about 5 3/4 inches wide and 4 1/2 deep. The overall length is about 19 1/4 inches. From the 1700's.
