Elegant burled wood large chest, a cigar cabinet for presentation, this one is French, c.1850-70, Napoleon III / Victorian era. Comes to us out of France and is truly one of the nicest of these we've ever found. The black gutta percha panels of hunt scenes, Animalier movement bas relief sculptures (4) are each perfectly preserved, and rest with such opulence against all that fine burled wood veneer and ebonized trim. Very much a Napoleon III mainstay. Fine quality throughout, even the 4 trays have slider apparatus at back of trays to hold them firm and straight as they slide out. A drawer in bottom, and all of the original knobs in place. The chest is more beautiful in person than in our photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, with only very minor signs of age (view from all sides to see any slight imperfections). Corners are crisp, not chipped away, all trim is in place. Trays have never been damaged. No odors. Hardware hinge shows the braces (2) to hold it upright without bending further back. Lock with working original key. The one I'd keep, were I younger!

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat .00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.

8.75% sales tax applicable as of April 1st, 2009 for shipments & sales within the state of California, no exceptions. If you are within CA and are a dealer buying for resale, you must provide us your active resale certificate # and acknowledgment of intent to resell or we will have to collect sales tax. No exceptions.
