    Description

    Glass Tobacco Jar
    This vintage tobacco jar likely at one time held Velvet Pipe Tobacco.  It has twelve side and a rope design along the upper edge.  The heavy glass lid has a block shaped handle that sits down in the lid.  The other side of the lid also can be used as an ashtray.   The lid has a patent mark of December 7, 1915.  The glass has a few bubbles in it.  The interior edge of the jar is a bit rough and there is a chip that can be seen in the last photo.  The lid also has a couple chips on the cigarette rests on the underside of the lid.
