This beautiful antique cameo was created by the Shiman Mfg. Co. of New Jersey circa 1910. The company was founded in 1906 and used the stamp "ESEMCO" on some of its designs (see photos). ESEMCO was renowned for their highly detailed, beautifully carved portraits of women of the era.
This classic piece features a carved genuine shell cameo depicting a lovely silhouette of a woman with curly hair, facing right. The lady is carved in off-white on a salmon-colored background. This cameo features a small but stunning old european cut  diamond at bottom center. The oval cameo is securely bezel set with an ornate design around the periphery of the bezel. The bezel does show slight distress characteristic of its age (see photos). A classic piece of fine antique jewelry, circa 1910s!
