50mW HeNe Laser System Multimode 40mW Fiber Coupled Spectral RMM355L Helium Neon
Here is a complete, high-power helium neon laser system with fiber launch. The laser head is nearly a meter long and was made by Spectral in Italy. It has a large 3mm bore diameter and produces a multimode beam with random polarization. After warming up, it produces 50mW at 632.8nm. There is a removable FC fiber launch installed and we measure 40 mW output from the included 4m long, 62.5um multimode FC/FC fiber cable. It may be possible to increase that a bit by adjusting the alignment of the fiber launch.
We've paired this with a Melles Griot 05-LPM-915-065 power supply brick that we mounted in a JDSU 216-1 enclosure. The power supply has been adjusted for it's maximum output of 9mA which is a bit below the lasers spec of 10mA, but works quite well.
